Snippets of Stuff

Sometimes its the simplest things that make the biggest impact in our lives...the same is true for our artsy and our craftsy endeavors. There are times when i teach and i show a simple trick i have learned along my artful journey or through trial and error, I have discovered a quick trick or two...or more. During my class at Scrapbook Garden last weekend it became very clear that i needed to make more of an effort to share these little "Snippets of Stuff" that i  know, have learned or discovered. I am making video's that will be under 2minutes....to they dont take much time, they will not show projects, just a tip...technique...helpful hint, or how too....for some of you it may be what you already know and for some it may be just the "Ah Ha!" moment you need. What ever the case...i want you to be inspired, be enthused and be excited to create.

a real quick post

Playing with Flocked paper

Sometimes accidents while creating art are the best thing to ever happen. I think thats why i am always expirementing, and playing and trying to keep myself outside the box. I love flocked papers, but i dont always like the colors....so as my students know i am constantly tinting and painting the flocked paper with Luminarte. One time is got toooooooo much paint on my paper so i turned it over on a piece of scrap paper and with a brayer removed the excess paint on to my scrap....what i discovered was a block print like image....whooooo hooo!

 

Did you know that you can sew wood?

Spent the day to day playing with Real Wood by Creative Imaginations. (yes it is real wood veneer, the thickness of card stock) I was feeling the wood yesterday and thinking to myself, "I think this might be thin enough to sew with my trusty sewing machine." 

Can you imagine how happy i was to see how well it worked....

Sewing on Wood Paper is going to be a huge part of my mixed media art.
